​“Reid can’t read”, and “What kind of name is Weed?”, two lines I heard daily due to my slow reading speed and issue pronouncing “r” sounds. It’s ironic that a prose challenged, video game avoidant and weirdly stern child became a dramatic comedy narrative designer; yet, if I was to use my Commerce Degree then the bullies win… and screw bullies, right? Childhood trauma wasn’t all bad. It helped foster my empathy, open communication, and emotional intelligence. My professional goal is to work with a diverse team to write emotionally engaging and relationship focused stories that occasionally mock the absurd and deal with trauma. Bullying is terrible… but it does produce good writers who know how to use their words.
